Product Description
All CURT hitches feature WeatherTite construction, which prevents rusting from the inside out by sealing the main body of the hitch. The receiver tube has an open back end to allow for easy cleaning and for dirt and moisture to pass through and not get trapped as is common with other brands of hitches. All CURT hitches come with mounting hardware and installation instructions. CURT is the only hitch company in the industry that mechanically de-scales all of our hitches before applying a thick powder coat finish, which is baked on for a high-gloss, smooth surface. CURT trailer hitches are simply the most attractive, most durable and toughest hitch on the market. You won t find better quality and value anywhere!Curt Manufacturing 13593 Class III Receiver Review
My first order arrived in a beat up box with 5 exit wounds. Since Curt does not put any packing material or secure this receiver in the box, it is free to bounce around and get scuffed/scrathed up. They literally put the receiver in a big box and ship it out. My receiver arrived bent, scratched, scuffed... just beat up. I contacted Amazaon Customer Service and they promptly resolved my issue. They sent me an RMA label with free return shipping and sent me out a new receiver the same day with 1 day shipping. I will note that FedEx was the first carrier and it arrived in horrible condition. (UPS was the second carrier and it arrived in great condition.) Check the customer pictures to see how I received my first receiver.Installation was simple enough and anyone with a basic mechanical knowledge and muscle can do this. The directions were easy to understand and follow and application was straight forward. Some things I did (or did not know) made it harder and install took longer. Total install time was 3-3.5hr.s. Here's some tips to make your install go quicker:
1. Getting your car off the ground either by a lift or jacking it up will prevent working in tight spaces
2. If you have never 'dropped a muffler' before, do yourself a favor and go to youtube and watch a generic muffler drop video
3. Go to youtube, search for *Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-7 -etrailer.com* They install this Curt hitch on a 2010 CX7 *all CX7's to date have the same frame/muffler*
4. Make sure you have a good file, vice grips, WD-40, some extra wire, a 3/4" deep socket, a torque wrench *75lb.s*
5. Dropping all 4 points of the muffler would make your job easier, dropping only 2 is adequate
6. I've uploaded the manual in the pics section (top half and bottom half)
I took my car to Pep Boys and they put my car on the rack, raised it and tightened the bolts to the manufacturer reuquired torque... for FREE! Thanks Pep Boys!
