The 2012 RAV4 like mine has a tow mount single loop hole mounted exactly where they want you to mount the hitch so it will not go on out of the box. The tow loop was installed by the factory and was made to not come off unless you are crazy strong and I am not. I gave it all I got and just ended up stripping the bolts realizing that it wasn't supposed to come off. The only thing you can do it trim the centimeters it would take to make it fit on the drivers side but who wants to do that?! Grinding metal away from the product or the car frame or drilling into the bolt that holds the single tow mount to break free wasn't what I had in mind when I bought this hitch. Stuck between a rock and a hard place ladies and gentlemen, I wouldn't join me if this is your car.
