Kensun HID Conversion Kits have an advanced, quality construction, are easy to install and are a sight to behold in action. Everything you need for installation is packaged with the kit. What is HID Color Temperature? Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a characteristic of light that is sometimes misunderstood as brightness, when it's more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light's temperature, this may be a bit misleading. The term color temperature actually refers to the color that is associated with the amount of heat needed to produce a color in from an ideal black body. Here is a rough guide to Color Temperatures for our HID bulbs. It is hard to describe HID colors accurately because different people tend to perceive colors slightly differently. 3000k= Yellow, 4300k= Bright White with a hint of yellow, 6000k= Pure white light (some people detect a slight blue), 8000k= White light with a blue tinge, 10000k= Light blue, 12000k= Deeper Blue, 30000k= Violet/Purple.Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit with "Slim" Digital Ballasts - H7 - 6000k Review
I had my concerns about purchasing but the price was just a little more than the Sylvania Silver Stars that I've used in the past. I have always used the more expensive bulbs hoping to gain more in terms of night vision but they really didn't help. I debated HID kits for years now and the prices have come down considerably so I took the opportunity. The installation was on my 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE already equipped with focused beam projector lenses. I was worried that aftermarket products would be too bright and distracting but not the case. The key to installing the bulbs takes a little more time but saves frustration--REMOVE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY! Once the entire unit is out, it is easier to align and seat the bulbs without worrying about damaging the bulb. Once it is in place, remount the assembly and hook up the leads to the ballasts, zip tie to anything and done. The extra step I found was to be the best way.
Night driving has become brighter and signs light up from an easy 1/4 mile. I notice more and definitely more aware. Lines and markers are pronounce and really a tremendous difference between these HIDs and halogen. Can't even compare.
I purchased these in September and everything was fine until a few weeks ago I started to notice a flicker in the passenger side light. It would go away after a while but I inspected anyway to see if any connections were loose; none were. Then, that very same bulb looked as if it started to dim and not warming up to full temp and soon after the bulb would not turn on with the other. I had to turn off and on the headlights until it got power. So I emailed the company because they were still under warranty. I received a message back asking if it was the bulb or ballast. I swapped the driver's side ballast for the passenger and no problems other than an odd humming noise. The rep ( I'd don't know if it is ok to name so I will not) said no worries, they'd send out 2 new ballasts. I was thrilled because I really didn't expect that. I got them UPS in a day, hooked up the new ballasts and viola, perfectly working headlights again! I'd recommend the product as well as the customer service to any one looking to by a really good set of HIDs at a great price.
