Aries 202017 3" Black Side Step Bar Review

Despite amazon's car fit guide, this does not fit a 2010-2011 4Runner Trail edition. This is only for the SR5 and Limited models...Aries part number 202000 will fit the 2010-2011 Trail model according to the manufacturer. Returned and explained to amazon the car fit guide lied. Other than the wrong part number, the product seemed to be rugged and well made. I purchased the Aries 202000 for my trail edition on another website. Just a friendly heads up.

Heininger Automotive 9103 Size 66 Non-Skid Traction Aid Winter Tire Standard Snow Donut - Set of 2 Review

first these are not as easy as it shows to get on your tires but once i did get them on they did work
FOR A TOTAL OF 21 MILES!
i live 3.6 miles from work, all back roads, i put these on thursday morning early we had about 8 inches of snow (the town just does not want to plow this year) and they worked pretty well, the pavement was NOT visibile and i drive like a granny (new 2013 veloster which is my baby) when i say drive like a granny i mean not above 20 mph any time in this nasty weather.
i got home later no problem,.
next day still snow on my hill & big time in my driveway and ice on the roads the entire trip to work so my speed was about 15 mph friday am and pm (again i only drive about 7 miles round trip)
today we had a snow storm and it fell at about 1 inch per hour roads horrible but i had to run out in it, about 3 inches of packed snow (again the town has done little) and accidents every where, i drove for about 3 miles to my destination (the last 2 of which felt more and more slippery but the snow was pounding down so i figured it must be the snow worsening)
AND TA DA!!!! the "impossible to fall off" snow donuts were not only off but torn to shreds (i was only driving 10 mph the roads and visibilty were horrible!

soooo after pulling one off which was attached by a thread and cutting the other one off which was wedged somewhere in my 18 inch low profile rim i was furious.

i understood when i purchased these that they are not for anything but serious snow and ice and can not (and were not at any time) be driven on bare pavement and NEVER above 30 mph, well i maxed at 20 mph, traveled less than 21 miles total (over 3 days of terrible weather and threw $80+ out into the snow!

i have used chains before and am very comfortable attaching them, these were much better and easier to put on and did not damage my rims & true they did not fall off .......but tore off!

was truly hoping to get through a few more wks of occaisional use in only deep snow if needed until my bonus comes in (then i am getting rims and snow tires)

not even going to try and send them back for a replacement or refund as i do not have all the pieces and the stuff i did have i tossed away, then parked in a lot down the street after i could not make it up the hill to my house.

again DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! JUNK JUNK JUNK! very unhappy, i am the first reviewer of any kind for these things and this is the last time i will be the first to try something new.....better to wait and see a review.

happy new year from a very soggy, snow covered customer!
